The Catholic Society (CathSoc) is a Students’ Union society which exists for students of all faiths or none to offer friendship, support and hospitality to all as well as share their faith experiences, socialise and learn more about Catholicism. We organise prayer evenings, fellowship meals, high-profile speakers, discussion groups and socials.

Jake Smith
Position: President
Course: Modern Languages
From: Ilkeston

Julia Rynkiewicz
Position: Secretary
Course: Midwifery
From: London

I enjoy “musicing”, baking, walking and playing board games [generally not at the same time].

Alana Kearns
Position: Treasurer
Course: Music
From: Bradford
I enjoy playing cornet in band or drinking tea while binge watching Netflix in my ‘spare’ time.

Maura O’Sullivan
Position:
Publicity Officer
Course:
 Medicine
From:
London
I’m often found playing the piano at Mass or trying to pretend I’m not a fourth year medic by doing road trips around the country (and trying to invite everyone to join me).

Grace Pelloquin
Position: Social Secretary
Course: English with Creative Writing
From: Rugby
I’m frequently found by the lake, walking round it or feeding the squirrels. I’m a little socially awkward but could talk for days about guinea pigs!

Beth French
Position: First Year Representative
Course: Theology
From: Nottingham
I’m frequently found either in the chapel, the Cathedral or the pub! I vehemently hate cheese, but its okay, I forgive you if you do!

Olivia Gardner
Position: Committee Officer
Course: Agriculture
From: Shepshed, near Loughborough
My course is on SB campus, but I’m always willing to chat (in a choice of English or Polish)! I enjoy reading, going for walks and being part of a community, balanced with quiet time (and some pre-disco Bee Gees music).

Joanna CallabyJoanna Callaby
Position: Committee Officer
Course: Maths
From: Ipswich, Suffolk
I love listening to praise and worship songs while working or relaxing, and really enjoy playing the flute in the music group at mass each Sunday.
