Fr Andrew Moving On

After over five very happy years as Catholic Chaplain to the University of Nottingham and Private Secretary to the Bishop of Nottingham, Bishop Patrick has asked me to become parish priest of Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham, in the north-east of the Diocese of Nottingham. Fr Jonathan Rose, currently assistant priest at St Barnabas’ Cathedral and in St Augustine, Apostle of England parish, will be my successor in both positions. I will take up my new position on 11th January 2017, and be formally inducted by the Bishop on Monday 20th March 2017, the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Patron of the Universal Church.

I am very sorry to be leaving the University and city of Nottingham, although my new post will be a big challenge with lots of exciting opportunities – and I get to live by the sea again.

Everyone is welcome to a Mass of Thanksgiving on Sunday 11th December 2016 at 11.00 am in the Great Hall of the University of Nottingham, and to a light buffet prepared by the fantastic CathSoc Committee that will follow.
