Welcome to Nottingham
It’s A-Level results day and many of you checking our website, twitter feed and Facebook page will have just found out that you’ll be starting at the University of Nottingham on the 24th September this year. Congratulations and welcome to Nottingham!
The Catholic community is here for all of you whether you’ve been brought up Catholic or you’re interested in learning more about Catholicism (or both…), you are all welcome. In Fresher’s Week we’ve got a whole host of events planned so you can get to know the Chaplains, the CathSoc committee and the whole Catholic community here at the University of Nottingham. Thursday 20th September, 7.30pm – Atrium, Portland Building
Glasshouse Café, a café put on by the International Chaplaincy in conjunction with the International Office. On Thursday the café is run by volenteers from the Catholic community and is a great chance for international students to meet the Catholic Chaplains & CathSoc committee.
Sunday 23rd September, 11.00am – Great Hall, Trent Building
Sunday Mass! After Mass there will be tea/coffee and plenty of returning students on hand to say hello, answer any questions, generally help out and be friendly. Parents are welcome to join us as well.
Monday 24th September, 7.30pm – Chapel, Portland Building
Our first Monday prayer event of the term – we’ll be beginning the term with Praise & Worship and the week after Fresher’s Week we’ll have Taize.
Wednesday 26th September, evening – City Center!
A cinema trip with an opportunity to check out some of the pubs in Nottingham city center afterwards; a great chance to meet other first year students and to see the city center. We’ll meet on campus and head into town together, more details on the film, time and travel plan coming soon.
Monday – Wednesday 10.00am to 4.00pm – Freshers’ Fair Tent
CathSoc will be at Fresher’s Fair Monday through Wednesday and would love to see you there.
Sunday 30th September, 11.00am – Great Hall, Trent Building
Sunday Mass! After Mass there’ll be a BBQ on the grass behind the building and a chance to meet the whole community and find out about everything we’ve got planned for the autumn term.
